The person feels pain in the bottom of their foot and also at the centre or front of the heel bone. Usually, after sitting for pretty long time if you stand up then you may feel such pain.

What are various symptoms?

If you are suffering from faciite plantaire then usually when you get up in the morning from bed, you feel intense pain in your feet and you feel very uncomfortable to walk normally. If you exercise, you may feel the pain after the exercise. Following are few other symptoms of plantar fasciitis

  • Foot pain
  • Heel pain
  • Tenderness
  • Stiffness

If this becomes a chronic problem then after a year, it may turn into plantar fasciosis because of a vascular scarring of plantar fascia. Due to poor blood supply, it becomes too painful to the scarred tissues and if the treatment for plantar facciitis is given, it does not respond to the treatment.

What is plantar fasciitis?

Plantar area is generally referred to the sole of your foot. If a person is suffering from such problem then there will be chronic local inflammation of the ligament, which will further extend towards the sole and underneath. This area is generally referred as plantar fascia, which attaches with the heel.

What are the reasons of plantar fasciitis?

If there is repetitive strain injury in the ligament of the sole of your foot then it may cause this problem. Usually, such condition may happen if you run or walk excessively without using proper footgear or it can also happen if you jump from higher level and land on the ground with great force. The other reasons can also be due to reactive arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.

How it is diagnosed?

When you visit any doctor then he will check the tender area on your foot and he will try to pinpoint the exact location where you are feeling the pain. Usually, doctors do not suggest any imaging test, but if he suspects any other reasons for such pain then he may suggest MRI or X-ray.

In normal case, plantar fasciitis will go away if you take proper rest and few medicines as suggested by the doctor. However, if you are not comfortable even after a month then you must visit the doctor once again.
